Doug has been playing guitar since 1962 at the age of twelve upon first

hearing the wit and social commentary of Bob Dylan. Add to that the grit

of the early Stones and the idealism of the Beatles and Doug was fired

up to add his voice to the growing cultural change. He refined his

guitar style while in Boston in the early seventies while jamming with

conga players with that Afro-Cuban pulse. Doug's playing style was

further influenced by the drive of rock, the soul of blues, the

creativity and freedom of jazz and the down home grounding of folk.

Doug has been performing professionally for over three decades from New

Orleans to Key West to the tourist meccas of Maine where he now lives.

He has produced four CDs and is working on his fifth. Check them out!

Atomic Orphans has ten tunes most of which have a strong rock edge. A

few folk tunes rounds out this freshman offering. Twelve string and

electric guitar figure primarily in this project.

New Day has twelve tunes. The first three have a Latino flavor mixed

with rock and pop influences. The next few are more rock centered. Then

the tunes drift into the blues. The sophmore effort ends with a sweet

folk tune.

Dog Soldier has fourteen tunes. These rock and jazz influenced tunes

offer more horns and vocal harmonies. Twelve string guitar remains

present in all the tunes. It is a delicious mix of rock and blues with

the occasional touch of folk and even a suggestion of Buffet country.

The tune, Cedar Key, has been played world wide.

Live at the Grand is the high lites of a blow out show ranging from two

solo tunes to a fourteen piece band complete with a horn section and

powerful back-up vocals. It includes incredible solos by sax, trumpet,

keyboards and electric guitar.
